So here I am at Nablus 2 Road, Jerusalem. I have to admit, after an 1.5 hr plane delay at JFK and two (count 'em two security checks - complete one before we boarded) and an all night flight, when I got through passport check in Tel Aviv, I was tempted to call Moshe, $110 be damned. But I easily found the Jerusalem shuttle and was reassured by the driver and the manager that Nablus 2, like the woman at the hotel told me, was just down the street from Nablus 4, a/k/a the Jerusalem Hotel. All I had to do was walk from 4 to 2. Sounds easy, no worries.
However, Nablus 2 is DEFINITELY not "straight" down the street from the Jerusalem Hotel, unless you consider straight to be walking a block or so, turning left at the bus station and walking on a curving road (who knows which direction at that point, not me!) about another .5 block or so to Schmidt College for Girls. Anyway, although ATT made out like a bandit, between a phone call to the hotel and a nice Arabic Jerusalemite who spoke no English but escorted me all the way to the hotel from the French Protestant Institute (?), here I am. Tomorrow I plan on exploring the area around Damascus Gate, maybe even venture into the Old City (do you think if I leave bird crumbs to find my way back the birds will get them :)). Anyway, it is very early hear, only 6:30 pm but I am curling up with my book and calling it a night.
Hope you are all listening!

everything is right around the block--or up the block---don't believe them. But you got there and that is important.

Thus the adventure begins! As is often said "hakol yeeyeh b'seder" everything will be in order. Somehow you get from point A to B--and you did it thanks to a Good Samaritan (somehow seems very appropriate)! It's Sunday, hope you got to the Arab market in the Old City and ate some great falafel! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading this with awe and admiration for my 'lil sister!! Glad you got there and to the hotel ok. I'm waiting for the next installment of your blog........ Love you
